These pictures were taken in the Old Town of Basel. I've always been fascinated with the details on entranceways in Europe. You really have to slow down when walking through the old parts of cities to avoid missing many beautiful details.

I like the bottom one a lot.
ReplyDeleteYou've inspired me to go round and get some photos of local French doors and gateways. Many, even in quite humble homes, are quite magnificent. Sadly, as they rot, they're often being replaced by the ubiquitous PVC number
ReplyDeleteYeah, that bottom one was unusual, Mr. A. I love the doors in Europe. I was not really focusing on them in Basle, so the ones I photographed may not even have been the best ones around.
